Dartmouth Castle is wonderfully sited and more than 600
years old and has protected the Dart Estuary and the port
of Dartmouth. Dartmouth Castle consists of a square and
a round tower built next two each other to fit the shape
of the rock. Another castle was built on the opposite bank
at Kingswear and both fortifications were designed as protection
against French pirates.Dartmouth castle lies just 8 miles
from the At The Beach complex at Torcross so well worth
a visit
